The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) intends to conduct a trial implementation of the National Credit Framework for classes 6, 9, and 11 commencing in the academic session of 2024-25. It will extend invitations to its affiliated schools to participate in this initiative.
In the preceding year, the government launched the National Credit Framework (NCrF) as part of the implementation process of the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020. This framework aims to facilitate the seamless integration of school, higher, and vocational education, allowing students to accrue credits from pre-primary education all the way up to the PhD level.
In a letter addressed to school principals, the CBSE announced the development and distribution of draft guidelines for implementing the NCrF (National Credit Framework). These guidelines were deliberated upon in various workshops and subsequently obtained approval from the Union Ministry of Education.
In order to further evaluate and refine their efficacy in practical settings, the board has scheduled a pilot implementation of these guidelines in CBSE-affiliated schools, targeting classes 6, 9, and 11 for the academic session of 2024-2025.
The letter also requests the principals of interested schools to provide their contact information through the following link: https://forms.gle/5AB2iuxa1k62r2E3A.
