Admission Guidelines for the session 2016-17
The Admission process for the session 2016-17 in different undergraduate courses of Maharaja Manindra Chandra College, Kolkata will start on and from 20th May, 2016.

Instructions and Procedures for On-Line Application
- Keep Ready a valid 10 digit Mobile Number and a valid e-mail Id.
- Upload your scanned color white background Photo in JPG Format In your computer. The image size should be between 10 kb to 100 kb

Now follow the steps
1st Phase
Apply Online→ - Click on the on-line application
- Select the course applied for
- Provide all personal & academic details as per your 10+2 Result according to our Instruction
- Upload your image (scanned photo)
- Click Submit button
- A payment challan with application No will come out

Take the Print out of the challan

A message will be send to the registered mobile Number and email Id
1st Phase is complete. Now Pay Rs. 120/- + service tax to the nearest branch of Central Bank of India. After two days, complete the 2nd phase. Otherwise your application will be rejected.

2nd Phase
Application Status→ - Click on Application status
- Put the Application No and Journal No as given to you by the bank to log in
- Click “Download Application Form”

You have successfully completed the 2nd Phase. Now wait for the merit panel and date of counseling

- Take the print out of the Application form and present the same at the time of counseling

Documents required at the time of counseling and admission
- Original Mark Sheet (H.S./Equivalent Examination).
- Original Admit Card (Madhyamik/equivalent exam. For age proof).
- Certificate from the school last attended in case of students of other states.
- Three copies of unattested Passport size photograph.
- Original cast certificate (where necessary).
- Original Migration Certificate (where necessary)
- One attested photocopy of each of the documents mentioned above.

Important Dates

M. C. college office during office hours. 13th June and 14th June, 2016 Publication of Final merit panel 16th June, 2016 Starting of counseling and admission 21st June, 2016 onwards as per the schedule to be announced later. -
Important Criteria

- All admissions will be strictly on the basis of merit. Direct admission will be made after the merit lists are completely exhausted and if the seats are available.
- Application fees (Rs. 120/-) will be received by bank in cash only. Cheque or DD is not acceptable.
- Students’ application will be activated by the service provider after getting information From the bank that the student has deposited the required fee of Rs. 120/- .That means No application will be activated until and unless the application fee is deposited.
- On depositing fee the student’s part of the application process will be completed.
- The student’s part of the cash challan bearing the unique application number must be preserved safely; otherwise the students will not be able to take part in counseling and admission process.
- The final form of Different merit lists for Counseling in different subjects will be notified in the notice board of the college and also in the college website : www.mmccollege.co.in on 18th June, 2016. The date of counseling and venue of different subjects will be mentioned therein.
- During counseling the student must bring the student’s part of the cash challan and Other documents mentioned in the Online Application Form.
- Counseling will be purely on merit basis and admission will go on until all the seats are exhausted.
- Tentative starting date of counseling : 21st June, 2016.

Basic Criteria :
- Applicants seeking admission to the 1styear degree course, 2016-17 class must have passed H.S (10+2) or equivalent examination in 2013 onwards provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100.
- Reservation of seats : SC: 22%, ST: 6%, OBC-A: 10% (within 3 years from this session), OBC-B: 7% (within 3 years from this session) and Physically Handicapped (PH): 3% in each category.
- To apply for Honours courses in any subject the applicant must have to secure pass marks in associated subjects in the previous qualifying examination.
- Separate application form can be submitted for each Honours subject with different general subject combination.
- Guardian (Father/Mother) must be present to sign the admission form at the time of admission.
- Submission of admission form and attending Counseling bears no guarantee for admission.

N.B. : Combination of general subjects may be altered at the time of Counseling depending on the seats available in the particular subject(s). -
A. Eligibility criteria of application for admission in Honours subjects :
- A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate (of best 4 subjects excluding compulsory Environmental Education or Studies) and 45% marks in the subject or related subject in the pre qualifying examinations
- 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.
- 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination

Marks Criteria for SC / ST candidates as per C.U. Rules. :
- 40% in aggregate or subject for all honours student.
- Passed in10+2 or equivalent examination for all general students
- All students must have to take compulsory English (50 marks) and any one of Bengali/Hindi (50 marks) as compulsory language.
