Eligibility Criteria


Bengali Honours (BNGA) : General candidates :
55% in subject (Bengali) and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)

S.C., S.T. candidates :
40% in subject & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).
English Honours (ENGA) : General candidates :
55% in subject (English) and 50% in aggregate (best 4)

S.C., S.T. candidates :
40% in subject & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).

NOTE :
All candidates will have to appear for a written admission test to be held on a specific date at the college. Based on the result of this test and on the subject marks secured by the candidate in the HS or equivalent board examinations, a final merit list will be published. Candidates whose names appear in this list will be admitted to the three year English (Hons.) course at the college.

Sanskrit Honours (SANA) : General candidates :
50% in subject (Sanskrit) and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)

S.C., S.T. candidates :
40% in subject & 40% in aggregate. (best of 4)
History Honours (HISA) : General candidates :
45% in subject (History) and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)
If the candidate has 55% marks in subject opted as Honours then there is no cut off for the aggregate.

S.C., S.T. candidates :
40% in subject & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).
Education Honours (EDCA) : General candidates :
50% in subject (Education or related subject *) and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)

S.C., S.T. candidates :
40% in subject & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).

(* Related subjects in case candidates do not have Education in their higher secondary stage : Psychology, Philosophy, Mathematics, Sociology, Economics, Political Science and History.)

Philosophy Honours (PHIA) : General candidates :
55% in subject (Philosophy) and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)

S.C., S.T. candidates :
40% in subject & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).
Political Science Honours (PLSA) : General candidates :
45% in subject (Political Science) and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)

S.C., S.T. candidates : 40% in subject & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).
Sociology Honours (SOCA) : General candidates :
50% in subject (Political Science or related subject *) and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)

S.C., S.T. candidates :
40% in subject (Political Science or related subject *) & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).

(* Related subjects in case candidates do not have Sociology in their higher secondary stage : Psychology, Philosophy, Mathematics, Education, Economics, Political Science and History)

Economics Honours (ECOA) : General candidates :
45% in Mathematics and 50% in aggregate (best of 4)
for 55% in Mathematics (Aggregate marks will not be considered)

S.C., S.T. candidates : 40% in subject & 40% in aggregate (best of 4).
B.A.  General (BAGN) : General candidates :
Passed Higher Secondary or equivalent Examination from Govt. recognised board
