Cognitive Science | Master’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline (Science / Arts / Engineering / Medicine) |
Linguistics | Master’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline with specialization in Linguistics (preferable). |
Oceanography & Coastal Management | Master’s Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering (for M.A in Geography with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at H.S. level) |
Women's Studies | Master’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline |
Only the students who have completed their Master degrees/equivalent can apply. The current students who have appeared MA/MSc or its equivalent fourth semester examination this year (2016), securing at least 40% marks in each course and minimum parentage stated above in the aggregate of all marks obtained in 1st, 2nd and 3rd semester examinations (in case of grade, the mid value of the corresponding range of marks should be inputted) are also eligible to apply. For such candidates the percentage of marks obtained in the aggregate of 1st, 2nd and 3rd semesters examinations will be considered for preparing the merit list.
Their provisional admission shall be automatically cancelled if they are not declared to have passed securing minimum parentage stated above in aggregate of the Master’s degree or its equivalent examination 2016 positively by 1st September, 2016. Their provisional admission will be cancelled even if they are declared eligible for Special Supplementary examination 2016 as per the Examination Rules of the university.
Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the University shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the University to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in University hostel or on University campus.
If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the Authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the Authority would expel him/her from the University.
