Important Information
- Before applying please read/print the eligibility criteria & selection procedure carefully.
- Before starting the registration process, you are advised to consult the 'How to Apply' section at the bottom.
- Each candidate will need to register only once. After registration, he/she can apply to as many departments he/she wishes (if eligible). He/she must note the Login-ID for future use.
- After each application, he/she will get a unique Application No. Using this No he/she can relogin into the system.
- After 48 hours of form fill up, candidates should pay the application fees online through SBI I-Collect System using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card (enter Date of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format in SBI server) and print the e-receipt from SBI website for further reference.
- After online payment through SBI I-Collect System,candidates have to upload the fees deposit details (SBCollect Ref. No.) by login to the system using Application No./Login ID. If you do not upload the fees deposit details within 09/6/2016 in the website, your application shall not be completed. Incomplete and/or incorrect application shall be liable to be cancelled.
- The candidate will then need to take a printout of the admit card (if applicable), following all necessary instructions.
- Candidates must produce the admit card with two self attested photograph of the candidate pasted on it at the time of written admission test. (To print admit card follow Step 4 of How To Apply page.)
- All admission tests will have to be taken in English or Bengali.

If any candidate wants to fill the form second time, he/she has to enter his/her H.S. or equivalent Registration No./Index No. followed by dup (for example, if your H.S. or equivalent Registration No./Index No. is 5008456 then you will have to enter 5008456dup). - Students who want to apply for hostel accommodation are advised to submit duly filled-in application form for hostel boardership along with attachment as mentioned in the application form (address proof, income certificate issued by the authority mentioned in the application form) on the day of admission. Hostel Bordership Application Form will also be available on the day of admission. No hostel bordership application form (filled-in) will be accepted after the day of admission. - Before submitting the filled in application form on line, the student must check that she/he has entered all marks correctly. The university will not be held responsible for any incorrect entry of marks or incorrect information provided by the student in the application form.

Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the University shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the University to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in University hostel or on University campus.
If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the Authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the Authority would expel him/her from the University. - As per Rules of the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/OBC-A/OBC-B of the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal, unless they can produce a domicile certificate of 10-year residency issued by the competent authority.
- The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC- A and OBC- B categories must produce an OBC certificate (the date of issue of the certificate should not be earlier than June 2015, and category 'A' or 'B' must be clearly specified) issued by the competent authority that they do not belong to creamy layer of the society, at the time of counselling/ admission.
