Eligibility Criteria For B.Sc. (Honours) Courses
For Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Geological Sciences |
Candidates having passed 10+2 Examination from any recognized Board in Science with Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and securing at least 65% marks in average obtained in Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics are eligible. In case of OBA-A/OBC-B category, minimum requirement of marks is 58.5% in average obtained in the above mentioned three(3) subjects. In case of SC/ST/PD/Sports category, minimum requirement of marks is 48% in average obtained in the above mentioned three(3) subjects. The minimum disability in case of the PD candidates is 40%. |
For Geography | Candidates having passed 10+2 Examination from any recognized Board in Science with Mathematics and any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry & Geography, securing at least 65% marks in average obtained in above mentioned three(3) subjects are eligible. In case of OBA-A/OBC-B category, minimum requirement of marks is 58.5% in average obtained in above mentioned three(3) subjects. In case of SC/ST/PD/Sports category, minimum requirement of marks is 48% in average obtained in above mentioned three(3) subjects. The minimum disability in case of the PD candidates is 40%. |
** NOTE :
A student who has obtained the Bachelor Degree from a recognized University is not eligible for admission to the Bachelor Degree course of this University.
For Sports Category
Candidates must have a record of participation in the Inter-State competition or above not before 01.01.2014
OR
secured position 1st/2nd/3rd for individual event/sports or member of Champion / Runners up team for team events/sports/games in Inter-District (open) competition not before 01.01.2014 in the sports and games recognised by AIU (list of national university games available on (www.aiuweb.org)).
It is to be noted that the following criteria will be followed in case of Chess and Tennis for admission under sports quota:
For Chess : Applicant having FIDE rating 1700 and above along with the criteria specified above is eligible for admission under sports quota.
For Tennis : Applicant having AITA ranking up to 300 for under 18 years boys/girls or ranking up to 500 for open (Men/Women) category is eligible to apply for admission under sports quota.
Candidates who have applied under Sports category must submit their Sports Certificates issued by the following authorities with a photocopy of online payment receipt and a print-out of online application to the Office of the Secretary, Faculty of Science (Ground Floor, U.G. Science Building) on or before June 17, 2016 (from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.).
Inter District/Inter State/National | Secretary/Competent authority of the State/National Sports Bodies, viz., I.F.A. / B.H.A. / C.A.B. / A.I.F.F. etc. |
International | Secretary/Competent authority of the National/International Sports Bodies, viz., F.I.F.A. / B.C.C.I. / I.O.A. etc. |
Participants in Tournaments/Events organized or certified by bodies other than those mentioned above are not eligible.
For PD Category
Candidates applied under PD category must submit a attested photocopy of certificate of disability issued by the relevant authority along with a photocopy of online payment receipt on or before June 17, 2016 (5:00 P.M.) to the Office of the Dean and Secretary, Faculty of Science, Ground Floor, UG Science Building, Jadavpur University, Kolkata - 700 032.
Anti-Ragging
Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the University shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the University to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in University hostel or on University campus.
If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the Authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the Authority would expel him/her from the University.
