3 Years B.Tech. in Instrumentation & Electronics Engineering - Information Brochure 2016

Eligibility :
Candidate must have passed the B.Sc. Examination (3-year course) of a University with Honours as per following criteria :

• Minimum Marks for Eligibility :
  60% marks (50% for SC/ST students) in the Honours subject in the 3-years B.Sc. course.
• Admission Test :
  The paper will consist of two groups as detailed below :
  Group A : Physics (100 marks)
  Group B : Mathematics (50 marks)
• Syllabi for the Admission Test :
  The Syllabi of the above subjects should be
  Group A : Physics as per Physi cs (Subsidiary) syllabus of B.Sc. (3-Years course) level.
  Group B : Mathematics as per Mathematics (Subsidiary) syllabus of B.Sc. (3-years course) level.

Candidates who have appeared / are due to appear at the qualifying examination may also apply and such candidates, if selected, will be admitted only if they can submit valid proof of their passing the qualifying examination with required percentages of marks at the time of interview. However, if the results of the qualifying examination as stated above is not published at the time of interview, the candidate shall have to produce a certificate from the Principal of the College last attended stating that he / she (candidate) has appeared in the B.Sc. final examination with the honours and subsidiary subjects mentioned in it. In that case if, at the interview, the candidate is selected for admission, he / she will be given provisional admission and he / she shall have to submit the original and attested copy of B.Sc. (Hons.) Final mark-sheet within 3 months from the date of commencement of 1st year B.Tech. classes, failing which or if the candidate is found to be not eligible as per the mark-sheet, his/her provisional admission will be cancelled.

• Downloaded Application Form, Information Brochure and Pay-in-Slip for 3-year B.Tech. course in Instrumentation & Electronics Engg. (IEE) for the session 2016-17 will be available from the University website www.jaduniv.edu.in from 17.06.2016 to 30.06.2016. Last Date of receiving of Application Form is 30.06.2016.
• Intake of the Course : General – 14, SC – 4, ST – 1, PD – 1.
  
  Candidates are advised to download the Information Brochure and Pay-in-Slip of State Bank of India for deposit of Application Fee. The amount of application fee of Rs. 300/- for the course of study is to be deposited through any branch of State Bank of India by filling up the Pay-in-slip. The Journal Number must be legible in the pay-in-slip, which is needed to be used in Application Form & for other references. The applicants are requested to keep the counterfoil of the deposit slip for future reference. Candidates should carefully read the instructions given in the Information Brochure before filling up the Application Form.
• Properly filled in Downloaded Application Form, Application part of Pay-in-Slip and self attested Xerox copy of all related documents (mentioned in the Application Form) is to be sent by Post TO THE PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, FACULTY COUNCIL OF ENGG. & TECH., JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY, KOLKATA – 700032, within the last date of receiving of application form (i.e. 30.06.2016).
• List of eligible candidates for Admission Test available in the University website : 04.07.2016.
• Eligible candidates for Admission Test are requested to bring Admit Card for the Admission Test downloaded from the University Web site and properly fi lled up by the candidate and all original documents along with one set of self attested Xerox copy during the Admission Test.
• Date & Time of Admission Test : 07.07.2016 (Friday) at 12:00 Noon.
• After verification of Original Documents, Results of the Admission Test (1st Selection List along with Waiting List) will be published on : 08.07.2016 in the University website and Departmental Notice Board.
• Venue of Admission Test :
  Instrumentation & Electronics Engineering Department, Jadavpur University Second Campus, PL-8, BL-LB, Sec-III, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700 098. (Near Chinrigata Bus stop).
• Date of Admission :
  From the 1st Selection List : 21 & 22.07.2016 in the F.E.T. Office, J.U. Main Campus, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. with all original and attested Xerox copies and 5 copies passport size photo.
• Admission Fee will be required at the time of admission : Rs. 2660/- in cash.
• Date of Publication of 2nd Selection List & Waiting List on 25.07.2016, if vacancy exists.
• Date of Admission from 2nd Selection List (if any) on : 26.07.2016 & 27.07.2016.
• Commencement of Class : Tentatively 3rd week of July, 2016.
• Application Form & Pay-in-Slip are available in our website.

SC/ST reservation is as per rules. It is to be noted that Ragging is prohibited as per decision of the Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition No. (C) 656/1998 – Principal Secretary, F.E.T.
