Applications are invited for admission to the Ph.D. programme in Pure Mathematics, C.U. Candidates desirous of enrolling in the said Ph.D. programme are to apply in the prescribed form (as given below) after paying the prescribed application fee of Rs. 100/- in the University Cash Counter. The filled in form along with photocopies of all self attested supporting documents are to be submitted at the departmental office. The details about the proposed admission test (written) and subsequent interview of the candidates are given below. The candidates who have cleared UGC / CSIR (JRF) / NET / SET / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship or have passed equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil. examination shall not be required to appear at the Ph.D. entrance test; however, they are to appear for the interview.

• Date of written test for Ph.D. Entrance Examination - Deadline for application : 10.08.2015.
• Date of Interview for the candidates qualified : 28.08.2015 at 1:00 P.M.
• Maximum Number of seats available for the Ph.D. Programme : 08
  [Reservation regarding SC/ST and others will be followed as per rules]
• Syllabus : Topics covered in B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. courses in Pure Mathematics.
  (excluding topics covered in elective papers)
• Venue of the Admission Test and Interview :
  Department of Pure Mathematics, University of Calcutta, 35, B. C. Road, Kolkata - 700 019.
• Deadline for application : 10.08.2015

The list of successful candidates in the entrance test will be displayed in the departmental Notice Board on 25.08.2015.
