JEE Main 2018 : Important notice released

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the facility removal of discrepancy in picture facility for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) mains 2018.

All the candidates who wish to edit or make corrections in the photos of themselves in their application form can do so by logging on the official website, jeemain.nic.in

According to the schedule, JEE Main 2018 in pen and paper mode will be held on April 8, 2018, whereas the computer-based exam will be conducted on April 15, 2018 and April 16, 2018.

How to make corrections in photo :

  • Go to the official website, jeemain.nic.in
  • On the homepage, under the "Current Events" column, click on "Remove Discrepancy in Uploaded Image(s)" link
  • Enter your application number, password and security pin
  • Click on login
  • Edit your picture or signature scan
  • Save your application after editing

Admission criteria for IIT :

  • The number of attempts for JEE Main is limited to 3
  • Admission criteria to undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded technical institutions, institutions funded by participating state governments, and other institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying exam and in the Joint Entrance Exam, JEE (Main)
  • The Paper I (BE/BTech) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.

Aadhar mandatory :

Moreover, CBSE has made it mandatory to have an Aadhar card to apply for the exam. Candidates who already have an Aadhar card will have to enter their aadhar number in their application form. Those who have applied for their Aadhar but have not received it yet will have to provide Aadhar enrolment id in the application form.

Important dates :

  • Last date of submission : January 1, 2018
  • Admit card declare date : Second week of March
  • Exam date for offline mode : April 8
  • Exam date for online mode : April 15 and 16
  • Answer keys and OMR declare date : April 24-27
  • JEE Main result : April 30
