The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented substantial alterations to the examination structure for Classes 11 and 12, with the goal of enriching students' proficiency in employing concepts within real-world contexts.
According to CBSE officials speaking to PTI, commencing from the 2024-25 academic session, the examination format for Classes 11 and 12 will incorporate a higher proportion of questions designed to evaluate students' competency.
These questions are intended to gauge students' capacity to apply theoretical understanding to practical scenarios, aligning with the objectives outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Joseph Emanuel, Director (Academics) at CBSE, has reiterated the board's dedication to implementing Competency Based Education (CBE) in schools, in accordance with the directives of the NEP 2020.
Through the adaptation of the examination framework to include a greater emphasis on competency-based questions, CBSE seeks to cultivate students' analytical abilities and equip them for the demands of the 21st century.
