Applications are invited for admission to the following Post Graduate for the academic session 2017-18

PG Courses : Arabic, Bengali, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Sc., Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, M.LI.Sc. (Library and Information Sc.), Philosophy, Physics, Physiology, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology & Zoology, Mass Communication and Journalism, Food and Nutrition.

The candidates will fill up the Application Form only through online portal: CLICK HERE.

After successful completion of all the steps (e.g. filling up the personal details, academic details, uploading photo and signature), the candidate will pay Rs. 400/- (Rupees Four Hundred, for General and OBC) & Rs. 150/- (Rupees One Hundred Fifty, for SC/ST/PWD) only excluding bank charge through offline mode of payment by Bank Challan deposited in any Branch of United Bank of India.

Submission of Admission Form (online) starts on : June 23, 2017
Last date of submission of Application Form (online) : July 05, 2017

Reservation of Seats for Admission

  • 60:40 be maintained respectively for the Home University students only & open for both the home & other university students.
  • Students passed out in 2015 & 2016 may be allowed for admission on the basis of merit subject to deduction of 5% of marks for each year.
  • Reservation ratio : (SC-*22%, ST-6%, OBC A-10%, OBC B-7% & PH/PC-3%) be strictly maintained as per Govt. rules.
  • Selection will be made strictly on merit on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in Honours/major subject/course.

Eligibility Criteria

  • For M.A. Courses : Honours in the respective subjects.
    For M.Com. : Honours in Commerce.
    For M.A. / M.Sc. in Economics : Honours in Economics.
    For M.Sc. Courses : Honours in the respective subjects.
  • Eligibility for Computer Science : Self attested photo copy of
    • B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science.
    • B.C.A. with Mathematics as a combination subject in 10+2 level.
    • B.Sc. (Hons) in IT/ Software Technology with Mathematics as a combination subject 10+2 level.
  • Eligibility for Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) : Self attested photo copy of
    • For Fresher’s : An Honours and/or Master’s degree in any subject or equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks (no marks barrier for SC/ST/PWD candidates) from any recognized institution, with a minimum of 45 % marks in the H.S. or equivalent examination.
    • For Candidates with Certificate in Library & Information Science : Bachelor’s degree in any subject with Certificate in Library and Information Science with minimum 60% marks (45% for SC/ST and 55% for PD candidates) from any recognized institution.
    • For Deputed Candidates : Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with at least One year experience as a whole-time salaried employed in a recognized Library/ Information Centre.

Admission Process

  • Online Application will be available on Website (www.ugb.ac.in / www.onlineregistrationindia.com/UGB) during June 23, 2017 to July 05, 2017.
  • Application Fees:

  • After depositing the fees at any United Bank of India Branch the candidate shall have to produce the University copy of Bank Challan to the University Office on the same day for confirmation of the Provisional Enrollment. If the confirmation is not done on the same day, the admission may be cancelled.
  • Following documents are to be attached at the time of Online Application Form :
    Self attested photo copy of
    • Madhyamik or SSC admit card/Certificate (For Age Proof)
    • Marksheets of all the exams passed
    • UG Registration certificate
    • SC/ST/PWD/OBC-A/B certificate from the competent authority of the Govt. of West Bengal.

All candidates are required to produce all original Certificates, Mark Sheets and testimonials for verification after admission (Date will be notified later).
