Admission Notification 2016-2017

The candidates, who have passed with the requisite marks as mentioned in the Eligibility Criteria, may submit the application online at www.ubkv.ac.in to appear in the admission test for admission to two years M.Sc. (Agriculture) / M.Sc. (Horticulture) / M.Sc. (Forestry) courses in the following disciplines for the session 2016-2017. The number of seats for different disciplines is mentioned below :

  • Agricultural Entomology – 7 (GEN*-2, SC-1, ST-1, OBC-B-1, GEN-2);
  • Agricultural Extension - 5 (GEN*-1, SC-1, ST-1, PWD (GEN)-1, GEN-1);
  • Agricultural Statistics – 4 (GEN*-1, SC-1, OBC-A-1, GEN-1);
  • Agronomy - 8 (GEN*-2, SC-1, OBC-A-1, GEN-4);
  • Biochemistry – 3 (GEN*-1, SC-1, GEN-1);
  • Genetics & Plant Breeding - 8 (GEN*-2, SC-1, OBC-A-1, GEN-4);
  • Plant Pathology - 7 (GEN*-2, SC-1, OBC-A-1, GEN-3);

GEN* - Subject to creation of vacancy.

Application form has to submit online only on University website www.ubkv.ac.in on payment of Rs. 600.00 (Six hundred only) for General & OBC category and Rs. 150.00 (One hundred fifty only) for SC/ST candidates through online and offline payment mode. Only PWD candidates who’s disability percentage are 40% or above, will be treated as exempted candidates and no fees will be required. Candidates will have to deposit the required application fee for each application separately. On selection of offline payment mode candidate will have to deposit the required application fee to any of the branches of United Bank of India. However, no application form without deposition of fee will be considered. Detail information and admission related notifications are available in the University Website www.ubkv.ac.in.

No admission form will be issued from University counter. SC / ST / OBC candidates of outside West Bengal will be treated as General category.

The applicants have to upload scanned copies (both side) of the following Documents :

• Passport size photograph (Maximum size 20kb),
• Signature of the candidate (Maximum size 20 kb),
• Secondary Mark Sheet with self attested (Maximum size 200 kb to 300 kb),
• Higher Secondary Mark Sheet with self attested (Maximum size 200 kb to 300 kb),
• UG Examination Mark Sheet with self attested (Maximum size 200 kb to 300 kb).

Candidates need to send downloaded Application Form & Bank Challan to the University.

The applicants have to submit attested copies of

• Mark sheet(s) (Both Side) of
  • Madhyamik,
  • Higher Secondary &
  • UG Examination;
• Admit card / Certificate of Madhyamik Examination;
• SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B / PWD certificate;
• Character certificate issued from the Head of the institution from where he/she has passed last examination,
• Residential certificate from competent authority,
• Four copies of pass port size photo and
• Bank Challan (on payment of required fees) along with
• The downloaded application form and original copies of all above documents at the time of counseling, failing which his/her application liable to be cancelled.

Candidates who have passed in Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or Forestry from a recognized University with a minimum OGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale and at least 60% marks in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination may apply for admission test. The minimum OGPA and marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates are 6.00 and 50% respectively. Candidates who have passed in Bachelors Degree with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) under traditional system may also apply. The candidates intending to apply for more than one module as mentioned in the Guideline for Entrance Test shall have to submit separate application forms. The final admission will be offered strictly on merit, according to the position in the merit list. Candidates qualified for more than one subject will be allowed to express their choice during counseling session on the date of admission.

The minimum age limit for admission to M.Sc. courses is 21 years as on 31.12.2016

• Last date of submission of application form : 15.07.2016 (Between 23:59 hrs.)
• Publication of list of eligible candidates : 22.07.2016
• Entrance Test : 30.07.2016 and 31.07.2016
• Publication of Merit List : 02.08.2016
• Date of counseling and admission : 10.08.2016
• Start of classes : 16.08.2016

The University reserves the right not to admit any candidate, if so decided by the Admission Committee. Hostel accommodation may not be available for all admitted candidates for its shortage.
