Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in VIT group of Institutions. VITEEE will be conducted between 15 and 21 April 2023 (Tentative) at designated centres across India and abroad. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates can appear only once for VITEEE. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions and one mark for right and 0 for the wrong answer. There will be a total of 125 questions divided into the section Maths/Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions), and English (5 questions). The question paper will be in English only.

+ Step 1 - New user Registration

• Valid e-mail address and active mobile number.
• Enter all the relevant details carefully.
• An OTP will be sent to your Registered Indian Mobile Number for verification.
• Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address.
• All the correspondence shall be made to the registered email address and mobile number only.

+ Step 2 - Sign in for Registered users

• Login with the registered email address and the password received from VIT.

+ Step 3 - Filling Online application form

• Fill in the relevant fields carefully.
• An Application Number will be generated after filling primary details.
• Refer this application number in all your future correspondence.

+ Step 4 - Payment

• Application cost of Rs. 1350/- should be paid through Net Banking Account / Credit / Debit Card / Paytm.
• For Abroad test centre: Equivalent to USD 90 in INR
• Application cost is non-refundable.

+ Step 5 - Photo & Signature Upload

• After payment, softcopy of your photo and signature should be uploaded.
  Scanned files (.jpg format) of your photo (3.5 cm width x 4.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size) and signature (3.5 cm width x 1.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size)

+ Step 6 - Download filled-in application form

• Download and save the filled-in application for your reference and further correspondence.
• Applicants NEED NOT SEND hard copy of the filled-in Application Form to VIT.

+ Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:
• The applicant should be a Resident/Non-Resident Indian National/PIO/OCI.
• NRI applicants can directly apply under ‘NRI Category’ through NRI application form.
• Foreign applicants who studied/studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form.
Age Limit:
• Applicants whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2001 are eligible to apply for Engineering admission 2023.
• The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
• Applicants should produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counseling/admission, failing which their candidacy for admission will be disqualified.
Qualifying Examination:
Applicants applying for UG Engineering admission should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2023, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
• The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
• Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. (Physics & Mathematics - HL, Chemistry - SL).
• General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• Regular 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for Undergraduate Engineering programmes. Applicants should produce the Migration cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
* Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination with grade/CGPA converted to percentage.

* For Indian nationals appearance in VITEEE 2023 is mandatory to be eligible for B.Tech. admission.

* In case VITEEE 2023 gets cancelled due to natural calamities, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks or JEE-23 or a valid SAT. Applicants will be informed with specifics in such case.

Qualifying Examination Performance:
• Applicants applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2023 should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
• Applicants applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2023 should have passed with minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) for the following categories:
  • Applicants belonging to SC/ST
  • Applicants hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Certificate to prove community / nativity should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Subject Eligibility:
• PCMB/PCM applicants who have attempted Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Aptitude in VITEEE 2023 are eligible for all B.Tech. Programmes.
• PCMB/PCM/PCB applicants who have attempted Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Aptitude in VITEEE 2023 are eligible only for the following programmes only
  • B.Tech. Biotechnology (VIT, Vellore)
  • B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Bioinformatics (VIT, Vellore)
  • B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialisation in Biomedical Engineering (VIT, Vellore)
  • B.Tech. Bioengineering (VIT-Bhopal)
  • B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Health Informatics) (VIT-Bhopal)
• The selection of subjects (MPCEA / BPCEA) should be mentioned in application form.

+ Selection Criteria

• Selection is based on the rank secured through CBT (Computer Based Test) VITEEE 2023.
• Selected applicants can participate in online counseling based on their ranking. They can give options for specific campus, programme and category of fees. Allotment will be based on the matching of the rank obtained and available options.
• Applicants with rank upto 1 Lakh are eligible for counselling to Vellore and Chennai campus.
• VIT will verify the eligibility of candidates after completing the tuition fee payment on or before the stipulated date. Applicants are required to produce documents on the day of coming to the campus or as and when asked for, by the Office of Admissions. Provisional Admission offered during counseling will be valid ONLY if the eligibility is fulfilled.
• In case of situation wherein the above eligibility criteria is not applicable, the decision of the VIT will be final.
