Applicants seeking admission in different Colleges/Department/Centre of the University of Delhi (DU) in Undergraduate (UG) Programmes/Courses, for which the admission is based on merit of XII Class Board results or through entrance test or through other specified provisos, are all required to register online on the following UG admission portal.

  • Applicants who wish to be considered for admission to various Undergraduate Courses in different Colleges of the University of Delhi, (based on merit or entrance exam), are all required to register online for all categories, including unreserved UR / SC / ST / OBC.
  • Applicants who wish to apply under supernumerary categories, namely Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Kashmiri Migrant (KM), Armed Forces (CW), Nominated Sikkimese Students and Ward Quota shall also apply online on the UG admission portal.
  • There is no reservation under Kashmiri Migrants, Sikkimese Students, Ward Quota and Sports/ECA in all those courses where the admission is based on entrance exam.
  • The registration of applicants seeking admission under Sports/Extra-curricular activities (ECA) categories will also be processed through the above mentioned UG admission portal.
  • The registration of women applicants from Delhi seeking admission in Non-Collegiate Women‘s Education Board (NCWEB) for B.A./B.Com. programmes is also online through this UG admission portal.
  • Applicants seeking admission in the minority colleges also need to register online through the UG admission portal.
  • Applicants seeking admission under Foreign Students' category have to apply separately on Foreign Students' Registry website http://fsr.du.ac.in.

    • Registration Fee (non-refundable) for Undergraduate Programmes (Merit-based) is as follows:

    • Registration Fee (non-refundable) for Undergraduate Programmes (Entrance-based) is as follows:

      A separate Registration Fee would be charged for each entrance test for which the application is submitted.
      Note : The applicants’ are advised to check the minimum eligibility criteria for the programme for which they are applying. Registration fee will not be refunded in case the candidate is found unsuitable for the applied programme at a later stage.
    • Payment of Registration Fee:
      • Registration fee shall be payble at the time of online registration process through any one of the available online payment options.
      • Please note that the online registration process shall only be completed only after realization of the online registration fee.
      • Registration fee will not be refunded/adjusted/charged back in any circumstances.
    Note: Please note that permission to appear in the entrance examination is subject to the applicant‘s fulfilling the minimum eligibility requirements prescribed for applying to the concerned programme of study. In case an applicant does not meet the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed for applying to the concerned programme and appears in the entrance examination, it is at the applicant‘s own risk and cost, and if at any stage, it is found that the minimum eligibility requirements are not fulfilled, the admission, if granted, shall be cancelled ipso facto.

  • +/- UG Admission procedure in a nut-shell
    The admissions to various colleges of the University of Delhi are based on merit/entrance criteria depending on the course selected by an aspiring student.

    Applicants seeking admission to UG merit-based programmes/courses & UG entrance test based must register on a centralized admission Web Portal http://admission.du.ac.in, for which the details are given in this Bulletin.
  • +/- UG Merit-based Admission Procedure
    • Online Registration: The applicants seeking admission to UG merit-based programme/course must register through online registration.
    • Cut-offs: The applicants must check the centralized Admission Web Portal (http://admission.du.ac.in) and the respective college website for detailed cut-offs for different programmes/courses.
    • Selection of Colleges/Programmes: The applicants who meet the requisite cut-off should login to the UG admission portal using their registration account and select college/programme where the applicant wishes to take admission and meets the desired cut-off criterion.
    • Verification of documents at Colleges: The applicant shall take the print out of the admission/registration form and together with the list of documents/certificates, proceed to the respective college for verification of mark-sheet/certificates, calculation of cut-off percentage depending on the programme/course.
    • Approval of admission: The College will retain the original certificates of an approved applicant in order to avoid multiple admissions. The certificates will remain with the colleges during the admission process. After this, the college will approve the admission on the UG admission portal. However, the colleges shall promptly return the documents in case the student withdraws/cancels the admission or student wishes to appear in counselling of any other university/ institute.
    • Online payment of admission fee: The applicant will then be required to log-in to the UG admission portal to make the online admission fee payment through the available online payment options. The approved applicant is permitted to make online admission fee payment till 12 noon of the next day of the last day of admission cut-off list (in which the admission is sought).
  • +/- UG Entrance-based Admission Procedure
    Applicants seeking admission to Undergraduate courses, where the admission is based on entrance examination are required to apply online through the Web Portal (http://admission.du.ac.in).

  • +/- Computer-based Online Entrance Examination for Entrance-based Admission
    • The Admit Card for the entrance examination shall be available in the online applicant account within in a week after the last date of application.
    • Please visit the UG admission portal for news and updates related to the Admit Card and other admission procedures.
    • Applicant shall take the print-out of the Admit Card. The print quality of the Admit Card should be good enough for verification.
    • Admit Card shall carry the information related to examination Centre, Reporting time etc.
    • The applicant shall carry the following documents to the Examination Centre:
      • Printed copy of the Admit Card.
      • Identity card bearing candidate‘s photograph, for verification. This can be any one of the following documents: Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN card, Voter‘s identity card, Passport or College identity card, a copy of which has been uploaded with the application form.
      Note: Examination centre is allotted on first cum first serve basis subject to the availability of seats. University may not establish examination centre in a particular city due to insufficient number of candidate.
  • +/- Intimation regarding Allotment/Admission
    • Results of the Entrance Tests as well as the allotment of college and course (where applicable) shall be notified on the UG admission portal.
    • Applicants who obtain allotment of the course-college are required to furnish the necessary documents at the time of admission in the college allotted.
    • The applicant shall take the print out of the admission/registration form and the necessary list of documents/certificates, and proceed to the respective college for verification of mark-sheet/certificates. For more details refer to Section 8 in the following pages.
    • The College/Department will retain the certificates of approved applicants in order to avoid multiple admissions. The certificates will remain with the colleges/departments during the admission process. However, the colleges shall promptly return the documents in case student withdraws/cancels the admission, or where the student is allotted another course or college, or where a student wishes to appear in counselling of any other university/ institute.
    • The college/department shall then approve the application of the student on the UG (entrance-based) admission portal to enable the applicant to pay the fee.
    • Please note that an applicant‘s admission in a college is completed only after realization of the fee payment on the UG admission portal within the prescribed time-limit.
    • Information regarding subsequent lists of selected applicants, if any, shall be notified on the UG admission portal.

    More information regarding Admission process:
    • An applicant can take admission only in one course and in one college at any given time. In case an admitted student wishes to obtain admission in a different college or course (for which she/he has applied at the time of registration), the student shall withdraw/cancel the admission in the existing course/college, by approaching that college to cancel the admission. Only after the college approves the cancellation of the admission and returns the original certificates to the student, the student can proceed to take admission in the other programme/college. Admission fee will be adjusted automatically and the student will pay only the balance fee, if it is more than already paid fee in the previous college. In case the fee is lesser than already paid, the balance shall be refunded to the applicant‘s account or to an account declared by the applicant as per the College/University rules after the admissions are closed.
    • The colleges shall strictly follow the University guidelines with respect to gap year policy. The applicants with gap year(s) will not be at any disadvantage for the purpose of admission to the undergraduate programmes.
  • Step by step registration process
    • To register online, an applicant must visit the following URL: http://admission.du.ac.in.
    • The UG Admission Portal of the University of Delhi is mobile/tab friendly. However, the webpage may appear different on different devices. The instructions given below are for the webpage as it appears on a desktop/laptop.
    • As a first time user, the applicant shall go to “New Applicant Sign Up” to create the user account by clicking on the “New Registration” link.
    • Under the "Create New Account" page, all fields are mandatory and are marked with a red asterisk (*) adjacent to the field.
    • Applicants who do not have a valid email-id must create an email-id before proceeding further. The applicant must also ensure that the email-id and password is kept handy for all the future correspondence/reference regarding admission process.
    • The applicant shall enter her/his name as mentioned in Class XII Board records. For example, if your name is Raj Kumar Gupta, enter Raj as your first name, Kumar as your middle name and Gupta as your surname. If you do not have a middle name, leave the box blank.
    • Enter your existing email-id and confirm it by entering it again, which henceforward will be your login-id and also will be used for the admission purposes.
    • The applicant must choose the security question from the drop-down menu and write an appropriate answer in the “Security Answer” box. The applicant must note it down (both the security question and security answer) as it would be required in case the applicant forgets the password, failing which the applicant would not be able to access the registration account.
    • The applicant shall then create a password (of minimum eight characters) for online registration. Re-enter the same password in “Confirm Password” text box.
    • The applicant shall also provide a valid mobile phone number (10 digit number without any prefix, i.e. 0 or +91).
    • After entering all the details, enter the “Captcha” in the text box (which is case sensitive).
    • The applicant must ensure that all the details entered are correct. Before submitting the details, the applicant must confirm that the details entered are correct (by clicking the check-box). Finally click the "Register" button to create a user account.
    • Once the applicant is done with the process as outlined above, a screen will appear with the user‘'s registration account details. The applicant should save these details by clicking on the link "Click here to save this information for future reference", which will be marked as, "Registration Detail.pdf" file that can be saved on the applicant's local device.
    • After completion of the above process, a message confirming registration of your account will be sent on your e-mail/mobile number. However, even if you do not receive an e-mail/mobile message, your user account is still functional.
    • To proceed further, the applicant must visit the UG Admission portal home page by clicking on the link, "Continue to homepage" on the left side of the screen.
    • Once registered, the applicant can now log on to the UG admission portal to complete the online registration form. In the "Registered Candidates Sign In" on the right side, applicant shall enter "registered email-id" as username and the "password", as entered by the applicant during sign up. The applicant must enter the characters in the "Captcha Image" text box and proceed to "login".
    • In case the applicant has forgotten the password or wishes to reset it, the applicant can do so by clicking "Reset Password" button. The applicant can reset the password in two different ways for which the links are provided in the drop-down menu.
  • Steps to complete the online registration form:
    • After logging in, the applicant must read the Declaration and accept it before starting the online registration process by clicking Continue.
    • The entire registration form is divided into nine tabs (sections/pages) and applicant needs to enter details in each of these sections. The change of color of the tab indicates the status of the information entered by the applicant, which is as follows. Orange indicates editable, green indicates completed and red indicates incomplete.
    • Personal Details
      • In the first section/screen, the applicant needs to enter the "Personal Details" (as in the applicant‘s Board marksheets/certificates). The fields namely name, email, etc. will be populated automatically.
      • The applicant can update the mobile number, in case needed, anytime till the online portal is open for registration.
      • The applicant needs to choose the "Gender" carefully. The wrong selection may lead to incorrect choices in Sports/ECA/College. In case of a transgender, enter the choice "Other".
      • The applicant shall enter the “Date of Birth” as it appears on the applicant‘s class X certificate.
      • The applicant may enter the "Aadhaar Card Number", if available.
      • The applicant shall select the Category (unreserved/OBC non-creamy layer/SC/ST) from the drop-down menu. OBC Non-Creamy layer (Central list) category applicants should choose their state, community, and annual family income for the last financial year (2017-18).
      • As the applicant scrolls down the page, the applicant shall enter the family details. The applicants may enter all the details, though all fields are not mandatory except Mothers‘ Name and the citizenship. If you are not a citizen of India, you will not be allowed to proceed and will be logged out with the message, "Foreign nationals are advised to contact Foreign Students‘ Registry Office or visit http://fsr.du.ac.in to apply for admission in the University of Delhi".
      • Scroll down to enter the relevant information in the “Other Category/Quota” section on the same page to apply under any of the four supernumerary categories, viz. Kashmiri Migrant (KM), Children/Widow of Armed Forces Personnel (CW), Person with disability (PwD) and the Ward Quota. These are all mandatory fields and in case the applicant does not belong to any of these categories, select "Not Applicable". The applicant can apply in more than one category (if applicable) but at the time of admission, the applicant can avail benefit only under one of the categories of choice.
      • Click on the Guidelines for any help regarding supernumerary categories.
      • Enter the Correspondence Address. Tick the check-box, if the permanent address is same as the correspondence address. The applicant is advised to update the correspondence address in case of any change before the final submission of the registration form.
      • Once the applicant clicks the "Submit" button, her/his details are saved and a preview of the page appears. The colour of the serial number of the tab now changes to green. At the end of each page, there are three buttons, namely Previous, Edit and Next. If an applicant wishes to edit the information, click on the “Edit” button and make changes in the earlier submitted information. In case the applicant is satisfied with the information entered, click on the “Next” button.
      • If the applicant wishes to complete the remaining sections at a later time (but before the last date of registration), click on Save & Continue Later button, appearing on the top right of the section/page in the preview mode.
    • Bank Details: The applicant needs to enter the Bank Details for the refund of fee in case of cancellation of admission. Keep Bank account number and IFSC code handy and enter it carefully. Refund will be credited only in this account.
    • Academic Details: In the second section/page, the applicant needs to enter the “Academic Details” (as in the Applicant‘s Certificates). Choose name of Class XII Board from the drop-down menu and enter the roll number as it appears on the admit card. Select the year of passing, the qualifying exam from the drop-down menu and the result status. In case the result is not announced choose the “Awaited” option from the drop-down menu. Update the status of result as soon as it is declared and submit the registration form. On clicking "submit" button, a preview will be generated. The applicant can move to the next section/page by clicking on the “Next” button.
    • Merit-based Programme/Course Selection: In the third section/page, the applicant can select any number of programmes/courses based on her/his eligibility. The eligibility of the programmes/courses can be checked by clicking information button "i". The programmes/courses are categorized under six different headings for easy navigation. There are no extra registration charges for applying to multiple programmes/courses.
      • The women applicants (residents of Delhi) will be considered eligible for admissions in NCWEB. The details for applying to NCWEB are part of this application (see ahead).
      • Click on the "Submit" button to see the preview screen and move to next section by clicking "Next".
      • Applicants are free to choose as many courses as they want. The selection of these courses does not ensure admission.
    • Entrance-based programme/course slection: In the fourth section/ page the applicant can select any number of programmes/ courses for admission based on her/his eligibility. The admission to these programmes is based on the entrance test for which the schedule will be declared separately.
    • Sports: In the fifth (Sports) section/page, the applicant can select "Yes" for consideration of admission under sports quota.
      • The applicant shall choose the Game/Sport in which she/he has excelled.
      • The applicant shall provide the details of the highest level of merit/participation sports certificate in the relevant Game/Sport. It is mandatory to upload the certificate(s) as per the guidelines mentioned on the screen. The uploaded file(s) must satisfy the size limit.
      • The applicant can upload three merit/participation sports certificates. These certificates should be uploaded as separate documents and not as one merged doument.
      • After clicking the "submit" button the applicant can either apply for another game/sport by clicking on "Add another game/sport" or else proceed to the next section by clicking "Next".
      • There is a fee of Rs. 100 for each Game/Sport in which an applicant wants to be considered for admission under sports quota. For example, a candidate applying for admission under three sports categories shall have to pay Rs. 300/- in addition to the application registration charges.
    • Extra Curricular Activities (ECA): In the sixth (ECA Quota) section/page, the applicant can select "Yes" for consideration of admission under ECA quota.
      • Under ECA quota, various sub-categories are also mentioned, which can be chosen by the applicant.
      • The applicant can select the appropriate category/sub-category and shall upload only the highest level of certificate in the same.
      • After clicking the “submit” button the applicant can either apply for another ECA category by clicking on "Add another activity" or else proceed to the next section by clicking “Next”.
      • There is an additional fee of Rs. 100/- for each activity if the candidate wishes to apply for admission under more than one ECA category.
    • Uploads: In the seventh (Uploads) section/page, the applicant has to upload the following:
      • Passport size photograph of the applicant. The size of the photo should be 2 inch x 2 inch (5 mm x 5 mm).
      • Scanned signature of the applicant.
      • Self Attested Class X certificate/marksheet containing Date of Birth.
      • Self attested Class XII Marks Sheet, if her/his result is announced. (In case the Marks Sheet is not issued by the Board, the self-attested copy of the Marks Sheet downloaded from the respective Board‘s website should be uploaded).
      • Self-attested copy of the valid SC/ST/OBC/PwD/KM/CW certificate, if seeking admission under these categories.
      • Self-attested copies of Sports/ECA certificates, if applicable.
      • The applicant will not be able to preview the application and pay the fee without uploading the mandatory documents.
      • The University will accept self-attested copies of documents / papers provided by the applicants. It is made clear that, if any false attestation / falsified records are detected, the applicant will be debarred from attending any programme/course in the University / or its colleges for next five years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant sections of IPC (viz. 470,471,474 etc.) may be initiated.
      • After uploading the mandatory uploads, go to the "Next" section.
    • Preview: In the eighth section/page an applicant can preview the complete application. Kindly make sure that all the fields have been entered correctly.
    • Go for Payment: In the ninth section/page, applicant can proceed to the online registration payment. The applicant‘s online registration process shall be completed only after payment and realization of the online registration fee.
    • The applicant can update information in the application form by revisiting her/his account till the last date of registration, but before the payment of the online registration fee. The changes can be saved by clicking the "submit" button at the end of each page. The online application will become uneditable after the payment of registration fee is made. No request or a grievance shall be entertained to make changes/ amendments in the online application after the payment is made.

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College of Commerce, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, and Mata Sundri College for Women are four constituent colleges of University of Delhi that are maintained by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC), a statutory body established under an act of the Parliament of India.

The Colleges have been granted minority status by the NCMEI of India and retified by the Honourable Delhi High court. Fifty percent of the seats of the various courses offered by these institutes are reserved for students belonging to the Sikh minority.

Students from families of the religion who wish to avail this benefit need to fill the University’s common registration form select the Sikh Minority Category.

Other Important Points:
  • Save/Print the receipt after payment. You will have to submit this printed receipt along with necessary documents at the time of admission in the course and college of interest.
  • Your candidature for admission under minority category will not be considered valid in any case, unless printout shows you have selected Sikh Minority Category at the time of application.
  • You may purchase the information brochure of the college at the time of admission.
  • Making online application does not mean that you have secured admission in any of the course running in these colleges.
  • You will have to contact and check with college for your admission, and follow the college rules and regulations such as cutoff, last date of admission, fees, documents, and your eligibility for the course.
  • Students seeking admission under Sikh Minority Category must furnish “Minority Certificate” issued by DSGMC at the time of admission. This certificate is issued by DSGMC’s office and candidates should approach the office with the following documents:
    a) Two passport size photos of applicants
    b) One photo of father/ mother
    c) Copy of one photo-identity card (Aadhar Card/ Election ID Card/ Driver License etc)
    d) Copy of Xth or XIIth Class certificate.
  • Apply for courses after ensuring that you meet the eligibility criteria for the course you selected. Refer to individual college websites and University website.
  • +/- Qualifying Examinations
    Qualifying examinations for the purpose of admission to the first year of undergraduate programmes offered by the University of Delhi shall be Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.
    The applicants seeking admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the University should have passed the qualifying examination obtaining minimum marks as specified for each of the programmes in subsequent sections.
  • +/- Age Requirement
    As per Ordinance-I of the University, there is no minimum age bar for admission to the under-graduate and postgraduate programmes in the University and its colleges except in the programmes where the respective regulatory bodies, such as Medical Council of India (MCI), All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Dental Council of India (DCI), etc. have prescribed the minimum age requirement in their regulations.

    Gap year(s) would not be a bar for purposes of admission to the undergraduate programmes.

  • +/- Equivalence Criteria
    The applications for admission to the Undergraduate Programmes in the Colleges in respect of applicants belonging to the Examining bodies of Boards / Universities recognized / accredited by the Association of Indian University / University Grants Commission / Ministry of Human Resource Development shall be considered by the College/Department in terms of the following recommendations as mentioned in the University circular letter of 13 - 1- 2005.
    • That various degrees from Universities recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / University Grants Commission / Ministry of Human Resource Development or by any bilateral agreement be considered as equivalent to corresponding degrees of the University of Delhi subject to the conditions that Programme duration is same as in the University of Delhi for purposes of determining eligibility for admission to various Programmes and further Departments / Colleges may be allowed to evolve procedure through their respective Admission Committees.
    • Senior School Certificate of various Boards recognized by Association of Indian Universities /Central Board of Secondary Education is considered as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate of Central Board for the purposes of eligibility to various Undergraduate Programmes.
    • Students who pass various Degree / School Examination of Foreign Universities / Boards as have already been approved by the Equivalence Committee, from time to time, be considered eligible as a matter of routine. The cases of only those applicants who do not fall in the list of Association of Indian Universities /University Grants Commission/ Ministry of Human Resource Development recognized accredited Boards/ Universities shall be referred to the University on the basis of individual merit.
    • For some Boards which issue consolidated mark sheets containing marks of both 11th and 12th class, the merit of such applicants shall be determined on the basis of such consolidated mark sheet.

Admission in any programme/course shall not be granted on the basis of projected scores issued by any Board / School.

In the seventh (Uploads) section/page, the applicant has to upload the following:
  • Passport size photograph of the applicant. The size of the photo should be 2 inch x 2 inch (5 mm x 5 mm).
  • Scanned signature of the applicant.
  • Class X certificate/mark-Sheet containing Date of birth.
  • Self attested Class XII Mark-Sheet, if result is announced. (In case the Mark-Sheet is not issued by the Board then the self-attested copy of the Mark-Sheet downloaded from the respective board’s website should be uploaded).
  • Self-attested copy of SC/ST/OBC/PwD/KM/CW valid certificate (in the name of the candidate), if applicable or receipt of request for category certificate issued by competent authority (Admission will not be allowed without original certificate in the name of candidate in any circumstances).
  • Self-attested copies of Sports/ECA certificates, if applicable.
Note:
  • The applicant will not be able to preview the application and pay the fee, without uploading the uploading the mandatory documents.
  • The University will accept self-attested copies of documents / papers provided by the applicants. It is made clear that, if any false attestation / falsified records are detected, the applicant will be debarred from attending any course in the University / or its colleges for next five years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant sections of IPC (viz. 470,471,474 etc.) may be initiated.
