Application forms for admission to 5-Year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Course of Studies in Bengal Law College (BITM Campus), Gopalnagar, Sriniketan Bypass, P.O. Doranda, Dist. Birbhum, Pin-731236 and AMEX Law College, Nawabab Hat, Suri Main Road, Opposite of Uttara Bus Stand, P.O. Fagupur, Dist.-Burdwan, Pin-713104, affiliated to the University of Burdwan, will be available on and from 17.06.2019 to 12.07.2019 only on the university website (http/www.buruniv.ac.in) not in the affiliated Law College/ Institute.

Eligibility: For admission to 5-Year B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Course, every candidate shall have to pass the Higher Secondary Examination under (10 + 2) pattern or its equivalent examination securing not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
*Note: In the calculation of percentage of marks at (10+2) level, marks of the best five Subjects, available in the mark sheet, will be considered. Marks of Environment Studies may be considered among the best five Subjects if it is found under Compulsory Elective/Optional Elective in the Mark Sheet.

Age Limit: No age limit but the entire process including admission to the course shall abide by the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court against WP(Civil) No.- 1023/2016 pending before it.

Submission of Application Forms: Duly filled in downloaded application form, accompanied by a DD of Rs. 250/- (ie. cost of application form) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, B.U., payable at SBI, B.U. Branch, Burdwan, along with the Self attested photo copies of Admit Card (MP or its equivalent exam.), Mark Sheets of all the Public Examinations passed and SC/ ST Certificate (for relaxation in marks) and the NOC from the competent authority(in case of in-service candidates), shall be submitted, either personally or by authorized representative, to the Office of the Secretary, Council for U.G. Studies in Arts, Sc., Comm. etc., B.U., Rajbati, Burdwan on or before 12.07.2019 (except Saturday, Sunday & holidays).

Last date of submission of application forms: 12.07.2019 (upto 3:00 P.M.).
Tentative date of commencement of classes : 29.07.2019.

No. of Seats: 80 in Bengal Law college. & 60 in AMEX Law College.

Course Fee: Rs. 25000/- per annum

SC/ST candidates of domicile state are entitled to get the marks relaxation facility i.e. SC/ST candidates hailing from states other than West Bengal are not eligible for such benefits and they will be treated as General category candidates. Candidates, who are seeking relaxation in marks under SC/ ST category, must enclose self attested photo copy of the Certificate obtained from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B. GOVT. MEMO NO. 1813-BCW / MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, 2011.
The certificate must be obtained from one of the authorities listed below:

• Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal.
• Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata, Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata, Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. District Magistrate, Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe and ordinarily residing within such jurisdictions.

Mode of Selection for Admission: Selection for admission to the course shall be made strictly on the basis of merit to be determined by the percentage of marks obtained at the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination under 10 + 2 pattern. In case of same percentage of marks of two or more candidates, marks of English at the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination, under 10 + 2 pattern, will be compared. Marks of English at the Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination will be considered as the third criterion, if needed.

Publication of List: Notification of publication of Provisional Rank List will be available only on the University Website (http/www.buruniv.ac.in) on 19.07.2019 and admission will be held on 25.07.2019 & 26.07.2019 in the respective colleges.
