Jadavpur University - Admission to M.P.Ed. Courses 2020-2021

Admission to M.P.Ed. Courses
Session: 2020-2021

Online Applications are invited for admission to 2-year M.P.Ed. Course (Session 2020-21) through the University website www.jaduniv.edu.in on and from November 24 to December 8, 2020.

    + Eligibility Criteria

    Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or equivalent with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PD).
    OR
    Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Health and Physical Education with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PD).
    • An applicant shall not be considered for admission (even if provisionally selected) if he/she is already enrolled in a regular degree course or equivalent in any other University/Institute or in any department of Jadavpur University.
    • For candidates under SC/ST Quota:
      As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal unless they can produce Domicile Certificate for residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years issued by the competent authority.
    • For Candidates under PD Category:
      Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category under RPD Act, 2016.
    • OBC-A/OBC-B Category:
      The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC-A and OBC-B categories must produce an OBC certificate (the date of issue of the certificate should not be earlier than November 2019) issued by the competent authority that clearly indicates (i) the category (A or B) they belong to; (ii) that they do not belong to creamy layer of the society, at the time of document verification.
      OBC-A and OBC-B candidates from the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.
    • Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the University shall be duty bound during the entire period of studentship with the University to immediately report to the Dean of Students if any ragging is noticed either in University hostel or on University campus.
    • If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the Authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the Authority would expel him/her from the University.

    + Selection Procedure

    5. Sports Achievement (only the highest level be counted):
    • Candidate should have represented the sports competitions conducted by the AIU/Indian Olympic Association/Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India or any State.
    • Participation should have within 5 (five) years (i.e., July 2016 onward).
    • Distribution of marks according to performance:
      National/Inter-University (Inter-zone) - 5; Inter-University (Zonal) - 4; State/Inter-District Position (1st, 2nd & 3rd) - 3; Inter-District - 2

    6. Sport/Yoga-related Education (only the highest level be counted):
    (Candidate should have completed any UGC/Govt. recognise course)
    • Two-year Masters course in a related subject (except M.P.Ed) - 5 marks
    • One-year PG Diploma course in a related subject - 4 marks
    • One-year Diploma course in a related subject - 3 marks
    • Six-month Certificate course in a related subject - 2 marks
    • Six-week Certificate course in a related subject - 1 mark

    • In the case of breaking a tie, the first preference shall be given on Sports Achievement followed by the percentage of marks of Bachelor of Physical Education Examination.
    • Certificates of participation in Sports/Games/Yoga must be obtained from the competent authorities. Applicants must send all the Sports/Games/Yoga certificates along with a print out of online application in a single pdf file to the mail id (sanjibmridha.ped@jadavpuruniversity.in) on or before December 9, 2020.
