Candidates who have passed the H.S. Examination or its equivalent with special aptitude in the concerned subject are eligible to apply.
At the undergraduate level of studies under the Faculty of Arts, students will have to take up any 1(one) out of the following Generic Elective Course of 200 marks each as per CBCS syllabus- structure notified by the University Grants Commission guidelines.

Note:

No student is allowed to choose the subject as Elective which is his/her Honours subject, i.e. A student of English Honours cannot take English as Elective subject any more. He/she will have to choose any other subject as his/her Elective subject out of the given Pool of Elective subjects.

Other than usual fees, additional fees of Rs. 2000/- will have to be paid by the students opting to take up Journalism & Mass Communication as Elective subject within one month from the date of his/her admission.

Application for change of Generic Elective Course may be made within 1(one) month from the date of commencement of class.
Subjects: Admission to the B.A. programmes in the Subjects of Rabindra Sangeet, Vocal Music, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Percussion & Western Classical Music would be made through admission test.
Total score of Admission Test and previous Academic Achievement would be 100.

Admission Test: Full marks/score - 80 (including theory, practical etc)

Academic Achievement: H.S/Class 12 or its equivalent (Best 4 subjects other than Environmental Studies) - 20 (score)
Aggregate of the total score
(a + b = total score) will be counted towards preparation of provisional merit lists which will be subject to verification.
Admission Test:
Admission Test would be taken in 2 (two) phases as noted below:

Phase-I (Practical Test in off-line mode)-- Full marks/score: 50

Phase-II (Written Theoretical Test in off-line mode)--Full marks/score: 30
Academic Achievement:
Admission Test would be taken in 2 (two) phases as noted below:

Academic marks of H.S. or its equivalent (Best 4 subjects)--Full score: 20
The candidates obtaining at least 40% each in (i) Practical (30% for SC/ST/OBC-A&B/PWD candidates) would qualify in the 1st phase of Admission Test and then only the qualified candidates would be eligible for the (ii) Written Test having the same qualifying marks provisioned for Practical test. The result of the qualified candidates would be published on the University website.

[(a)(i) + (a)(ii) + b = total score] would be counted towards preparation of merit lists which would be subject to verification.
