• General Information for Admission to Undergraduate First Semester CBCS Courses 2016 :
  Durgapur Government College is affiliated to Kazi Nazrul University from the Academic Session 2015-2016. The College has 13 Departments which offer 6 courses in Humanities and 7 courses in Science streams in the Day Section. Commerce Course is taught only in Morning Section.
• Portal for On-line Application for admission to First Semester CBCS Honours courses 2016 :
  Candidates can apply on-line accessing only the website of this College : www.durgapurgovtcollege.org.
• Important Information :
  • On-line Application does not guarantee enlistment and admission. Only VALID applications will be considered for preparation of Merit Lists and admission will be strictly regulated by the existing rules of the Government of West Bengal and norms of Kazi Nazrul University.
  • Candidates who have passed H.S or its equivalent examination (10+2) from WBCHSE / NOS / IGNOU / ICSE / CESE / CBSE / RABINDRA MUKTA VIDYLAYA / NETAJI SUBHAS OPEN UNIVERSITY OR OTHER BOARDS / COUNCIL RECOGNIZED BY Kazi Nazrul University in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 are eligible for on-line application. The list of recognized Boards/ Councils which are equivalent to WBCHSE is provided in the Admission Portal Home Page.
  • As per the norms of the Kazi Nazrul University, the candidates who have passed the (10+2) final examination with at least five subjects (excluding Compulsory Environmental Studies) of 100 marks each including at least one language subject either English or Bengali and three conventional subjects may be considered for admission to the CBCS Courses if otherwise eligible.
  • The On-line application will not be validated without payment of Application Fee to the Bank account of College through ‘SBI Collect’ of State Bank of India.
  • The Merit lists will be prepared in the descending order of Merit Index. In case of a tie, precedence will be given to higher subject marks, wherever applicable.
  • Reservation of seats for SC / ST / OBC (A or B) and Physically Challenged (PC) candidates will be according to the existing rules of the Government of West Bengal (746-L Dated: 30.04.2013 & Higher Education Department Notification No. 07-Edn (U)/1U-89/13.- dated. 2nd January, 2014). A Certificate from the competent authority must be produced during counseling for claiming such reservation. No applicant will be allowed to take advantage of more than one quota of reservation. Candidates having SC /ST / OBC (A or B) Certificate issued by States other than West Bengal will be treated as General Category for admission.)
  • The admission will be strictly on the basis of merit and any sort of extra-legal influence in favour of any candidate will be reported to appropriate authority of Higher Education Department & his / her candidature will be cancelled.
  • No application for change of course will be granted once admitted. However, an applicant already admitted to a course may avail the chance of admission to another course if he / she qualifies as per his / her position in the merit list of the course later opted. The first admission will be cancelled and the applicant has only to pay fees in extra, if required, in relation to second admission to the course opted later.
• Application Procedure – READ IT CAREFULLY
  • Candidates can apply accessing the website www.durgapurgovtcollege.org only. The portal for accessing the On-line application for admission will remain active from 00:00 h of 08.06.2016 to 23:59 h of 17.06.2016.
  • All applicant must have a valid e-mail account which will be used for sending their Account information. Without a valid e-mail account, applicant will not be allowed to fill up On-line application form.
  • Each candidate has to REGISTER for On-line application to get Individual Account with Username and Password, which must be kept secured and duly noted by them for future procedure.
  • The candidates must provide all the necessary details and fill up mandatory fields as specified against * (asterisk marked) while filling up the ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM.
  • Candidates are required to take a print (Laser Printer only) of the system generated on-line filled Application Form after successful On-line submission of the Application Form.
  • The on-line Application fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) for each On-line Application should be paid to the college account through SBI Collect of State Bank of India. On-line module of Application is provided with the link for On-line payment through SBI Collect. The applicants has different options for the mode of payment and respective transaction charge is payable by the applicants.
  • According to 526-Edn (U)/1U-137/14 Dated 29.05.2015 the on-line Application fee of Rs. 60/- (Rupees Sixty only) for each On-line Application has to paid by the Physically Challenged applicants. Necessary certificate has to be provided to the bank authority.
  • Candidates are required to RETAIN the bank receipt against the payment of On-line Application for future correspondence and to provide it at the time of counseling, if selected.
  • The exhaustive list of valid Applicants will be published on-line and off-line on date as per the published Admission Schedule. A specific period will be announced for rectification of any system generated error. Such corrections will be published as per the published Admission Schedule.
  • NO REQUEST for rectification or correction of any error COMMITTED BY ANY APPLICANT during filling up of On-line Application will be entertained by the College Authority.
  • Only merit listed candidates as specified by the Admission Committee of Durgapur Government College will be allowed to enter the Counselling Room. Physically Challenged Candidates will be allowed to be accompanied by either of the parents.
