General Information for Admission to M.Sc. in Mathematics

• Only online application for admission will be entertained.
• Online application fee Rs 700/- (Processing fee Rs 670/- + Bank service charge including Service Tax  Rs 30/-)
• Total No. of seats  26
•  

  (a)	First merit list is prepared from 60% reserved category applicants. 60% (=16 seats) of total seats is reserved for C.U. and C.U. Autonomous College current year candidates only.
  (b)	Second merit list is prepared from 40% reserved category applicants. 40% (=10 seats) of total seats is reserved for (i) Non-C.U. candidates of current year and immediate preceding year (ii) The candidates in the 1st merit list not getting chance in the 1st phase of admission (iii) C. U. candidates of immediate preceding year

• Two seats is reserved for Narasinha Dutt College(NDC) students in 60% reserved category and this reservation will be taken from 1st merit list.
• Caste reservation as per West Bengal Govt. Rule.
• Admission of 60% of total seats is strictly in order of merit, judged on the basis of percentage of marks secured in the Honours subject and in case of a tie, the aggregate of marks in general subjects are taken into consideration.
• Admission of 40% of total seats based on 40% of weightage to be taken from the percentage of marks obtained in Honours subject of 3 years Bachelo’s Degree course and 60% of weightage in the percentage of marks obtained in the Entrance Test.
• All non- C.U. candidates have to appear in the Entrance Test and will be placed in the merit of 40% reserved category only
•  For C.U. candidates, Entrance Test is not mandatory but if any C.U. candidate does not appear in the Entrance Test, he/she may not be placed in the merit list of 40% reserved category.
• If sufficient suitable number of SC/ST candidates are not available in 60% reserved category, the same may be filled up by SC/ST candidates in 40% reserved category merit list and vice-versa. Inspite of this, SC/ST seats are still vacant, the same may be filled up first by Narasinha Dutt College students and then other candidates from their respective merit list
• The following candidates may appear in admission Test for ten(10) seats in 40% reserved category.
  • All valid applicants from Universities other than C.U. and C.U. autonomous colleges.
  • C.U. and C.U. autonomous college applicants of current year in the 1st merit list not getting chance for 1st phase of admission.
  • C.U. candidates of immediate preceding year
• Question pattern of Entrance Test: 20 Short answer type each of 2 marks.
• Venue of Entrance Test: Narasinha Dutt College Campus.
• Documents to be produced at the time of Entrance Test:
• You are to bring original copy of bank challan together with one xerox copy in both of which recent stamp size coloured photo are required in appropriate places.(For photo verification). Also you handover the xerox copy to Invigilator in the examination hall.
• B.Sc. Hons. Part-III original admit card (for photo verification).
• All the rules are subject to change by the order of the appropriate authority.
• Error/omission/ambiguity if any are subject to change by the approval of the appropriate authority.
• Candidates selected for admission will have to pay Rs. 15,500/- (Rupees fifteen thousand five hundred) only at the time of admission.
• In general, reimbursement of admission fee is not allowed. If any candidate wish to cancel his/her admission for better opportunities within a stipulated period, the tuition fees may be reimbursed but reimbursed amount will be at the discretion of college authority.
