Admission Notice for NIOS Students only (Session – 2016-17)

Online applications are invited from the students passed out H.S or equivalent examination from NIOS for admission to the B.A/ B.Com; (H & G) Part – I Undergraduate Courses as per the rules and regulations noted below.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CANDIDATE MAY PAY THE APPLICATION FEE EITHER ONLINE OR AT THE BANK. THOSE WHO OPT TO PAY AT THE BANK , PAY ONLY AT CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA, SINGHIBAGAN BRANCH, 4 & 5, SINGHIBAGAN LANE, NEAR JORASANKO, KOLKATA – 700007.

Calculation of percentage of marks in aggregate will be considered on the basis of top 4 subjects excluding Environmental Studies and Environmental Education, provided she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.

For Honours Subjects and General Course

• Last date of Online Application is 29.06.2016
• Last date of deposit of bank challan is 30.06.2016
• Date of publication of merit list on 4.07.2016
• Admission and counseling date will be given at the time of publication of merit list.
• Call for admission will be made serially on the basis of merit list and note your exact date and time.

Admission Norms : Marks in H.S. (10+2)

B.Com. Honours		:	60% in aggregate & 50% in subject / related subject
B.A. Honours	Hindi	:	55% in aggregate & 60% in subject
	Education	:	50% in aggregate & 45% in subject
	History	:	50% in aggregate & 45% in subject
	English	:	55% in aggregate & 65% in subject
For General Course
B.Com. (Gen)		:	40% in aggregate
B.A. (Gen)		:	40% in aggregate but for English Elective – Min marks in English subject – 50% and Hindi Elective Min marks in Hindi subject – 45%

Requirements : At the time of Admission

1	Downloaded and printed complete Application Form and Bank Challan must be brought to the college at the time of counseling and admission.

3	Higher secondary (12th Standard)	:	Mark sheet 1 copy Admit 1 copy
4	Original Mark sheet (H.S.) without lamination to be produced.
5	Photo	:	Two Stamp size photo
6	Requisite cash (Including the Tuition Fee for July 2016)

	B.Com. Gen.	:	Rs. 3480/-
	B.A. Gen.	:	Rs. 3420/-

All Mark sheets, Admit Cards, Age Proof Certificate, Caste Certificate (SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B, PH) should be brought in original at the time of admission.

Selection for admission to the courses is made on basis of merit in different phases.

Vocational Candidates (W.B. State Council) are eligible to take admission in B.A. (Gen) taking the subjects under ‘Humanities Division’ only (i.e., Excluding Eco & H.D.).

They are also eligible to take admission in B.Com (Gen) if there is ‘Discipline’ in H.S. – ‘Business & Commerce’.

Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B and physically handicapped candidates as per West Bengal Government rules : SC : 22%, ST : 6%, OBC-A : 10%, OBC-B : 7% and PH : 3% for all categories including general caste.

If data and statistics given is not agreed with the original, the application is liable to be cancelled.

If any sort of discrepancy arises during the course of admission the decision of the Admission Committee will be as final and binding.

Applicants are requested to go through the notice board / website of the college regularly for any sorts of information regarding admission 2016-17.

• Reservation of seats and relaxation of marks will be provided as per Govt. rules / C.U. stipulation.
