Eligibility Criteria


Minimum marks for admission to the unreserved seats in all M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. / MBA course of studies under faculty councils of science & arts is 50% at the honours level in the concerned subject as regular course of studies. No candidate having obtained graduation / post graduate degree from an open university or through distance education mode is eligible to apply for admission to any courses of post graduate studies. Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences and Geospatial Sciences, Women’s Studies, MPEd, MLIS, Mass Communication, MBA / MBA (Tourism Management) / MBA (Human Resource) are multidisciplinary, eligibility criteria for admission for these subjects are as below.


  • Environmental Sciences :
    Science graduates (10+2+3) having 50% marks Honours in Env. Sc. / Microbiology / Botany / Chemistry / Zoology / Physics / Geography / Geology / Physiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry and B.Sc. (Agri.) Hons. (10+2+4).
  • Biotechnology :
    Science graduates(10+2+3) and Engineering graduates (10+2+4) in Biotechnology with at least 50% marks and Science graduates (10+2+3) having Honours with at least 50% marks in (i) Chemistry with any branch of Bio-Science as combination subject or Biology at H.S. level or (ii) Any branch of Bio-Science with Chemistry as combination subject or (iii) Agricultural Science.
  • Computer Science & Applications :
    Candidates who have obtained 50% marks in B.Sc. (H) in Computer Science or BCA (H) or B.E. / B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) / Computer Science & Technology (CST) / Information Technology (IT).
  • Geospatial Sciences :
    M.Sc. / B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Applied) with Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Geography, Forestry, Wildlife Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Agriculture, Oceanography, Marine Sciences, Bioinformatics, B.F.Sc. (Fisheries Science) as one of the subjects with 50% marks in (45% in case of SC/ST candidates) in the aggregate of undergraduate / post graduate marks obtained.
  • Women's Studies :
    Regular Honours Graduates of any recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course in History, Pol. Sc., Philosophy, Sociology, Economics and Languages with minimum 50% marks.
  • MPEd.:
    Regular B.P.Ed. Or B.P.E. with at least 50% marks
  • MLIS :
    Any Regular Hons. Graduate with at least 50% of Marks.
  • Mass Communication :
    Any Regular Hons. Graduate with at least 50% of Marks.
  • MBA Programs :
    MBA, MBA (Tourism), MBA (HR) together called MBA Programs. Regular Honours Graduates of any recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates having valid score card in MAT, CAT, CMAT, XAT, GMAT, and JEMAT will be given exemption for written test. they will appear in GD and PI directly.
