The college admits students in the B. A. /B. Sc. General and Honours Degree courses and P. G. course in Bengali. There is also a Post Graduate course in Physical Education (B. P. Ed.). Our co-educational college provides the following courses of study.
*MORNING SECTION:*

Science stream:	General (Pass) course		The subjects offered are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Arts stream:	General (Pass) course.		The subjects offered are, Political Science, Sociology/Sanskrit, Economics/Education, Philosophy/Physical Education, History, Elective Bengali/Elective English
Students are to select 3 elective subjects. In addition they have to take Bengali/ Hindi/ Nepali/ Alternative English in the 1st year class, English (compulsory) in the 2nd year class and Environmental studies in the 3rd year class. Hindi, Nepali and Alternative English are offered as non-taught subjects.

HONOURS COURSE CANDIDATES ARE TO SELECT:
A) One Honours subject.
B) Two Elective/General Subjects from among those offered at the college.
C) Bengali/Hindi/Nepali/Alternative English in the 1st year class. [Hindi, Nepali and AlternativeEnglish will be offered as non-taught subjects.] English (compulsory) in the 2nd year class. Environmental studies in the 3rd year class.
GENERAL COURSE CANDIDATES ARE TO SELECT:
a) Three Elective/General Pass subjects from among those offered at the college.
b) Bengali/ Hindi/ Nepali/ Alternative English in the 1st year class [Hindi/ Nepali/ Alternative English will be offered as non-taught subjects]. English (compulsory) in the 2nd year class. Environmental studies in the 3rd year class.
POST GRADUATE COURSES:
(Admission process is conducted separately)
i) M. A. in Bengali
ii) B. P. Ed.(Bachelor of Physical Education)
CAMPUS RECRUITMENT DRIVE:
Several I.T. and B.P.O. organizations such as IBM and WIPRO etc. are recruiting our students for employment through campus interview.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) All undergraduate courses are of 3 years duration: Students will be required to appear in the University Examinations on completion of every one year of study- Part I Examination is held at the end of 1st year class, Part-II Examination at the end of 2nd year class and Part-III Examination at the end of 3rd year class.
2) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Computer Science (Hons/Gen) if he/she has passed in mathematics at the qualifying Examination.
3) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Microbiology (Hons) if he/she has passed in Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying Examination.
4) A candidate shall be required to take Chemistry as an elective subject for studying Microbiology (Hons).
5) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Geography if he/she has passed in Geography at the qualifying Examination.
6) A candidate shall be allowed to take up Economics (Hons) if he/she passed in Mathematics or Business Economics including Business Mathematics at the qualifying Examination.
7) No candidate shall be allowed to take up more than one of the following as elective subject except a candidate is converted from Honours to General course: i) English ii) Bengali iii) Sanskrit.
8) Students of the vocational stream who passed in Mathematics and Physics in (10+2) level may apply for admission in 1st year Pure Science class.
9) Subject combination is allowed as per University regulations. However, not all combinations of subjects may be available to students. The restrictions are as under.

Change of subject and change from General course to Honours course and vice-versa shall not be allowed after filling in the registration form.
