Admissions to B.A. / B.Sc. Courses for 2017-2018

Admission Procedure 2017

The course leading to the B. A. or B. Sc. Degree(Honours or General) is meant for those who have passed the H. S. Examination(10+2 course) conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or an equivalent examination recognized by the University of North Bengal. All applications for admission must be made in the prescribed form attached with the prospectus. Application forms duly filled in are to be submitted in the college office within the dates as notified. The Admission process starts immediately after the publication of WB HS result.

Selection of students for admission to all courses are made strictly on merit basis and subject to eligibility criteria and other conditions as are laid down by the University Rules. All admissions are provisional. The admission of any candidate who does not fully satisfy the University requirements shall stand cancelled at any stage.

Students willing to take Physical Education as an optional subject in the General pass course will be required to go through an admission test for selection. Due importance should be given to the candidates who have successfully participated in the State level meet or above.

Admission Criteria: Honours Course

(i) Merit = (2S + T)/6, for candidates who have Hons. Subject in the previous course.
S = Marks in the subject opted for Honours
T = Marks in English + Marks in Subject opted for Honours + Best Marks of other two subjects excluding Environmental Science(EVS)
(ii) Merit = (T1)/4, for candidates who do not have Subject opted for Honours in his/her previous course.
T1 = Marks in English + Best Marks of other three Subjects excluding EVS

For candidates under the SC/ST/OBC category, SC/ST/OBC certificates must be obtained from the competent authority in the name of the candidate. For candidates under the Permanent Disabled Reserved Category, Permanent Disability Certificate must be obtained from the Civil Surgeon/District Medical Officer. Attested copies of Certificates are required to be furnished along with the application for admission.

All subsequent Notifications, Counseling, Schedule, Admission Instructions, Selection list etc. will be put up in the College Notice Board.

Enrollment

At the time of enrolment, a candidate has to submit two copies of recent unattested stamp size (4.6 cm x 4.6 cm) photographs and the original Mark-sheet. Candidates from boards other than WBCHSE (any examining body outside the West Bengal) must submit a Migration Certificate from the competent authority.
