Provisional Admission to 1st year Post Graduate Classes
in Botany at Jogamaya Devi College

• Only Female Candidates who have obtained their Bachelor degree with Honours in Botany are eligible for apply in the said course.
• Post-Graduate Admission related information will be available only online through the website : www.jogamayadevicollege.org.
• Application Form will be available from 14.08.2014 to 24.08.2014.
• Application Fee is Rs. 500/- (excluding bank charges) to be submitted through any branch Indian Bank.
• Application Fee to be paid at the branches of Indian Bank (any branch) from 14.08.2014 to 25.08.2014 (within Banking hours).
• Reservation of seats ear-marked for CU and Other Universities (as per Govt. rules).
• Reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC and PH candidates are as per rules of Govt. of West Bengal.
• Merit list for 60 % of the seats allocated to candidates of CU for current year (2014) and previous year (2013) to be announced on 28.08.2014.
• Date of Screening for O.U. candidates : 03.09.2014
• Merit list for 40% of the seats (for Other Universities) to be announced on 07.09.2014.
• Classes will commence on and from 19.09.2014 (tentative).
• Incomplete application form is liable to cancellation.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission :

For General Candidates	For Candidates who have obtained B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Botany from Calcutta University	50% marks in Honours subject
	For Candidates who have obtained B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Botany from Other Universities	55% marks in Honours subject
*For Reserved Categories	For Candidates who have obtained B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Botany from Calcutta University / Other Universities	40% marks in Honours subject

* For SC / ST / OBC (A & B) candidates from West Bengal are eligible for reserved seats.
Application from Physically Challenged candidates (if any) will be considered as admissible as per norms.

• Of the total seats, 60% seats will be filled up by the candidates who have passed from the colleges affiliated to the University of Calcutta. This 60% of total seats be termed as "For C.U. Candidates". All the current year (2014) and preceding year (2013) students passed out as Honours Graduate from C.U. (affiliated Colleges) will be considered in this category.
• Merit list for this 60% of seats to be prepared on the basis of percentage of Honours marks at Graduate level.
• Rest 40% of total seats are kept open for both Non- CU and CU Candidates.
For candidates of other Universities:
• In this category, the candidates who have obtained their Bachelor degree in Botany from the University other than Calcutta University will be considered. Only Honours graduates or its equivalent of the current year (2014) and that of the immediate preceding year (2013) are eligible.
• Honours graduate or its equivalent of other Indian Universities of (10+2+3) pattern and Candidates Passing Honours in Science /Arts from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subhas Open University and the Distance Education Programme of other Universities in West Bengal of current year (2014) and immediate preceding year (2013) are eligible for Other Universities Category.

• The candidate should be present personally, failure of which will cancel her candidature.
• Guardians will not be allowed to enter the college premises on the day of admission.
• Selected candidates will have to pay the admission fees (Rs. 36,000/-) on the same day.
• There is no hostel facility in the college.
