The following courses for the degree of Master of Science in Nursing are offered at the college of Nursing of the Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society, a Christian Minority institution. The Post graduate seats for M.Sc. Nursing are distributed as per the following categories; Category 1 - Open Category and Category 2-Society Sponsored. Further, Subject wise distribution is as follows.

Each course runs for two years. The course commences as per the Calendar of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

There are 24 seats for men and women. Foreign Nationals may apply but application must be through Govt. of India as per rules.

Any seat falling vacant in category 2 will be filled from the category 1 and vice versa.

All admissions are made on merit secured in the Admission Test ,Viva Voce and additional marks if any.

Prospectus and application forms for M.Sc. Nursing programme for July 2014 can be downloaded from www.cmcludhiana.in, from 9th June 2014 to 11th August 2014.

Applicants should send/submit the completed application form along with relevant enclosures and application fee of Rs. 3500/- as demand draft drawn in favor of 'Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society' drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Ludhiana, to The Registrar, Christian Medical College Ludhiana - 141 008, Punjab.

Last date of receipt of application along with enclosures in the Registrar’s Office is 11th July 2014 by 5:00 P.M..

The application fee is Rs. 3500/- (Rupees Three Thousand five hundred only) to be paid in Bank Demand Draft payable to Christian Medical College, Ludhiana Society drawn on any scheduled bank, payable at Ludhiana.

The Application Fee Once Paid is not refundable.

• Academic :
  In order to be eligible to apply for admission to the M.Sc.Nursing course of this college, an applicant must have passed one of the following examinations obtaining at least 55% marks in the aggregate.
  • Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot / Panjab University, Chandigarh.

  OR

  • B.Sc. Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot / Panjab University, Chandigarh.

  OR

  • Any other B.Sc. Nursing examination recognised by the Syndicate of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences as equivalent to (a) or (b) above. An applicant shall apply to the Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Kotkapura Road, Faridkot-151 203, Punjab for an eligibility certificate, if applicable.
  • Post Basic B.Sc.(IGNOU) only from Centers recognized by the Indian Nursing Council
• Health :
  • If selected and found medically unfit by Staff & Student Health Services, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, the candidate will not be allowed to continue.
• Registration :
  • Must be a Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife recognized by Nursing Council of India. Candidate who is not Registered Midwife must have short course certificate recognized by INC.
• Experience :
  • Minimum one year work experience in Bed side Nursing / Public Health nursing / Teaching after declaration of Final result of B.Sc. Nursing or prior to or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing before 26.08.2014 (date of Counselling).
• No Objection Certificate :
  • If a candidate is currently employed, a No Objection Certificate from the employer will be required.
• Photographs :
  Each applicant must provide three copies of his/her recent photograph, taken in a photo-studio, passport size, which must clearly show full face, head and shoulder only.
  • One photograph should be pasted on the Application Form.
  • Two photographs should have the applicant’s name written clearly in English on the back of each photograph to be attached to the form.

A complete application contains the following :

• Application form completed in block letters with a photograph attached and signed by the applicant.
• Bank Demand Draft for application fee Rs.3500/-.
• Two copies of recent photograph of the applicant, passport size, full face, head and shoulders only. Applicant’s name should be written clearly in English on the back of each photograph not on front.
Photo Copies of :
• Matriculation / 10th Class certificate containing date of birth & Detailed Marks Sheet.
• B.Sc. Nursing Post-Basic/Basic or equivalent degree certificate, detail marks sheets of the whole course.
• Migration certificate from those applicants who have their qualifying certificates from Universities other than Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
• Eligibility certificate for candidates from Universities out of India.
• One year experience certificate in Bed-side Nursing and/or Community Health Nursing teaching experience before 26th August 2014.
• Registration certificate as
• Recent Domicile certificate
• No Objection Certificate from the Employer (if applicable).
• For Christian Minority Candidates: Baptism Certificate, Confirmation Certificate (if applicable) and letter from the Pastor about Church membership. Denomination of Church with address.

Place application form and all the enclosures in the envelope provided and submit the sealed envelope to the Office of the Registrar or send it by registered post/speed post to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana-141 008, Punjab.

The last date of submission of the completed application form, along with enclosures to the Registrar, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana is 11th August 2014. No application will be accepted after 5.00 p.m. on 11th August 2014.

Proof of Posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery or receipt. No alterations can be made to any of the information provided on application form once it has been submitted.

If the application is submitted to the Registrar’s Office by hand or courier service, a receipt should be obtained from the office of the Registrar.

This will consist of:
Written test : objective type and multiple choice questions based on B.Sc. Nursing Syllabus prescribed by Nursing Council of India for maximum of 180 marks.

The test will be held in College of Nursing, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana on 13TH August 2014. An applicant should obtain at least 35% marks in written test in order to be eligible to be considered for admission, which will be as per the merit in the final result. The merit list will be on the total marks of 200 including the additional marks as given below.

Additional Marks :

• College of Nursing,CMC Ludhiana Graduates (B.Sc/GNM with Post Basic) will be given 10 additional marks
• College of Nursing,CMC Ludhiana Graduates (B.Sc/GNM with Post Basic) who have satisfactorily completed minimum of 2 years of service obligation or served in CMC Hospital or a member body of CMC Ludhiana Society without service obligation, will get 10 marks.
  OR
  Staff Nurses working in a Government Hospital located in a Rural Area, for a minimum period of 2 years will get 10 marks.

Admission Test :
Written Test : 13th August 2014
Time : 10:00 A.M.

All merit listed candidates desirous of taking admissions should report to the Registrar’s Office in person with original certificates and testimonials on 26th August 2014 at 9:00 A.M. No separate information or call letter in this regard will be communicated other than publishing the merit list in the Registrar’s Office Notice board. Candidates will be called according to category and merit acquired in Admission Test and allotted seats in the various aforementioned courses. All Merit listed applicants must bring all relevant original certificates and testimonials and be present at the time of scrutiny. Any seat falling vacant in either category will be filled from the other category. All admissions are made on merit secured in the Admission Test.

Following scrutiny of certificates and testimonials, the selected applicants must submit the following to the Registrar in order to claim the seat as per schedule below :

• College fees and other fees (as applicable)
• Original Certificates etc.

If the seat is not claimed when offered as above, the offer shall be withdrawn and the seat will be offered to the next candidate on merit immediately.

Applicants will have to bear their own traveling expenses. All admissions to M.Sc. Nursing course are provisional, subject to the approval and confirmation of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

Note : Any student failing in any university professional M. Sc. Nursing Examination and or repeating the session will be charged college fees and residential fee for the additional period spent in the college & hostel as per rules.

Security Deposit is refundable if claimed within one year of leaving the College after getting clearance as per rules.

The Management reserves the right to revise the college fees, hostel fees and any other fees from time to time and these will be effective from the dates as may be decided.
