Applications are invited from graduate candidates for admission to the following courses : *Candidates who have obtained one year certificate in a language from C.U. or an equivalent certificate from other Institutes are eligible to apply for 'Diploma Course' in that language.

**Graduation and a two year Diploma in Russian is the eligibility for Pre M.A.

Candidates are to qualify an entrance test for admission to Pre-M.A. Course. Detail schedule of the test will be announced in due course.
Duration of the courses : All the courses are of one year duration
Eligibility
  Certificate course : Graduation in any discipline
  For other courses : As stated above
Classes are held : From 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
Attendance during the session : Minimum 60%

Admission Test : Admission to Certificate course will be made on the basis of objective-type written test of 100 marks followed by a counseling. The written test will be held on 03.07.15. Detail schedule in this regard will be announced in due course.

The candidates selected provisionally may note the following requirements at the time of admission :
i All original testimonials
ii Two (2) copies of recent passport size photographs
iii Tuition fees for six (6) months only (for certificate course)
  June’15 to Nov’15 @ Rs. 125/- per month Rs. 750.00
  Admission fee Rs. 100.00
  Session Charge Rs. 40.00
  Student Aid Fund Rs. 4.00
  Total Rs. 894.00

The classes for Certificate and Diploma courses will commence on 22.07.15. Class schedule will be announced in due course. A list of selected candidates will be published in the Departmental notice board. Unlisted candidates may contact the office of the Department. The students who apply from other universities (Marked as OU in the selection list) must apply for Calcutta University registration within a month from the date of admission and submit the relevant papers at the dept. office. Any other information regarding eligibility, etc. will be available from the office of the Dept. of Languages, Asutosh Building (2nd Floor). The application form for admission may be downloaded from the University webside (www.caluniv.ac.in) / or may be obtained at the office of the department. The filled in application along with attested copies of testimonials and the paid challan of Rs. 100/- (For SC/ST/DA candidates Rs. 50/- only) payable at C.U. Cash Section or Deposit to SBI, CU Br. Savings A/c No. 10444444211 under the head "University of Calcutta". Please attach Counter part of Cash Deposition receipt and write on the reverse Name,Course applied for and Mobile No. of the Candidate are to be submitted (2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.) at the office of the Department on or before 24.06.2015. Successful candidates of Diploma examination (2015) in Russian may submit their application for Pre-M.A. within seven days of publication of their result.
