Every student enrolling for an Honours course, needs to take up the following papers for studies:
a) One Honours subject: Eight papers (each paper is of 100 marks).
b) Two subsidiary subjects: Three papers in each subject (each paper is of 100 marks).
c) Environmental studies: One Paper of 50 marks.
d) English Language: One Paper of 50 marks.
e) Alternative English or MIL (Modern Indian Language) Bengali: One Paper of 50 marks.
Those who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent Examination conducted by Boards recognized by the West Bengal State University, are eligible to apply for these Honours courses. A candidate should qualify in five recognized subjects in (10+2) level including a full paper in English (full marks not less than 100).
