Admission Information

• Jadavpur University has originated from National Council of Education established by the doyens of the then Bengal intelligentsia. Since 1906 the Council had to intensify its technical education activities through the Bengal Technical Institute later named as the College of Engineering & Technology, Bengal functioning as a National University exclusively under national control. Government of West Bengal with concurrence of the Government of India enacted legislation to give a statutory recognition to the National Council under the name of Jadavpur University on the 24th December, 1955. The Faculty of Engineering & Technology of Jadavpur University runs 16 ( sixteen) B. E. courses, 3 ( three) 5- year B. E. Degree courses for working professionals, 30 (thirty) Post Graduate Courses ( M. E./ M. Tech./ M. Arch./ M. Pharm/ Evening M. E./ M. Tech.) and M. C. A. course. All the courses are approved by AICTE/PCI/COA. Jadavpur University was declared, along with four other Universities of India, as the University having ‘Potential for Excellence’. The University has been re-accredited with a CGPA 3.68 on 4 point scale at “A” Grade by NAAC in last assessment. The IT, IEE & PE departments have been accredited by NBA.

• Properly filled in offline Application Form available from 03.10.2023 to 10.10.2023 in the University website http://www.jaduniv.edu.in or https://jadavpuruniversity.in/ has to be submitted off-line positively within 10.10.2023 (05:00 PM) along with all requisite certificates including sports participation certificates at the office of the Dean & Secretary, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, 3rd Floor of the TEQIP Building, Jadavpur University, Kolkata 700032.

+ ELIGIBILITY FOR SPORTS QUOTA

• Candidates must pass Higher Secondary (10+ 2) Examination in Science Stream in regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board.
  • Individual pass mark in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Candidates must have obtained individual pass mark (both in theory & practical wherever applicable) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects at Higher Secondary or Equivalent examination with Minimum of 45% marks in above subjects taken together and having 45% marks in Mathematics as well as pass marks in English with a minimum mark 30% (for all category of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.
• The candidates must qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE - 2023) of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for admission to Engineering Degree Colleges and must hold General Merit Rank (GMR) up to 40,000 only.
• Domicile Criteria: The candidates must be domicile of Home State i.e., West Bengal for admission in Jadavpur University. The candidate shall have to furnish valid Domicile Certificate in the PROFORMA (a1, a2 or b) given by the WBJEEB (page no. 24, 25 and 26 respectively of WBJEE information brochure) in his/her name issued by the competent authority and satisfying the criteria as mentioned in the relevant parts of the WBJEEB Information Brochure. If the domicile certificate is found to be invalid, at any round of counselling, the candidate will lose the opportunity of admission.
• The applicants in the Sports category shall have to furnish original and attested copies of the certificate/ s issued by the following Authorities in support of their participation in the relevant tournaments organized in current year and two years preceding only.

+ SCHEDULE OF THE ADMISSION PROCESS

The admission process involves following stages, from application to admission, as described here under strictly adhering to the timeline as notified.
• Step 1: Payment of the Application Fee of Rs. 500/- through SBI Collect System under the category “Application Fee for UG-Engg. Sports Quota 2023”. The Link for payment: https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm?corpID=643164. The payment link will be available from 04.10.2023 (2 PM) to 10.10.2023 (04:00 PM). Candidates have to provide relevant personal and academic details in order to complete the payment. Having the Confirmed Payment Acknowledgement Receipt from SBI Collect system is mandatory.
• Step 2: Manually filling up of Application Form after downloading from the JU Website / FET Admission Portal and submission to the Office of the FET on or, before the last date of application.
• Step 3: Publication of List of eligible candidates satisfying all eligibility criteria for Physical Document Verification and Provisional Admission on due date as notified.
• Step 4: Reporting for original document verification and provisional admission in person at scheduled date and time with application fee payment acknowledgement receipt and self-attested copies of relevant testimonials as enclosures. Not completing the verification process will automatically remove the candidature without further communication.
• Step 5: Final Admission, if selected, including verification and payment of Admission Fees in person at the Jadavpur University Main Campus at scheduled date and time.
• Note: Failing to comply with the published time schedule at any stage will summarily cancel the application / eligibility /selection / admission without any further intimation. No Individual Communication will be made at any stage. The candidates MUST keep themselves updated through notifications published time to time on the Admission Portal.
• For any admission related query mails may be sent to secretaryfet@jadavpuruniversity.in, which will be entertained within office hours (10:00 am to 05:00 pm) on weekdays (Mon – Fri) only. No other mode of communication or communication to any other email will be entertained by the admission helpdesk.

+ FEES ADMISSION

• Candidates for all U. G. Engg./ Tech./ Pharm. courses (except Information Technology) will have to deposit Rs. 5210/- for Tuition Fees and other charges for the session 2023-24 & 2024-25 (for two years only) at the time off final admission except for the Information Technology Course.
• Candidates for Information Technology course will have to deposit Rs. 30,360/- ( for the session 2023-24) for Tuition Fee and other charges for the session 2023-24 (one year only) at the time of final admission.

• Application form will be available from 03.10.2023 to 10.10.2023 on the University website http://www.jaduniv.edu.in or, https://jadavpuruniversity.in/.
• Last date of Submission Application Form is on or, before 10.10.2023 (05:00 PM) at the Office of the Dean & Secretary, Faculty of Engg. & Tech., J. U. The university shall not be responsible for any postal delay.
• The name of the provisionally selected candidates will be announced along with date of admission on the University website on 13.10.2023 (tentative). Date of physical verification and provisional admission under Sports Quota will be on 16.10.2023 (tentative).
